Innocent Ujah Idibia was born on 18 September 1975 in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria. He is of Idoma descent from Benue State.
He attended Mount Saint Gabriel’s Secondary School in Makurdi, Benue State. Afterwards, he enrolled in the Institute of Management & Technology (IMT), Enugu, to study Business Administration.
During his time at IMT, Idibia began engaging with music more seriously. By 1996, he was composing songs and recording short jingles at the GB Fan Club at Enugu State Broadcasting Services (ESBS).
Early Musical Beginnings
While still a student in Enugu, Idibia started performing locally under the stage name “2Face.” He chose the name to distinguish his business persona from his private life.
He later became part of the musical trio Plantashun Boiz, alongside his friends Blackface Naija and Faze. The group released several albums in the early 2000s and played a vital role in the rise of contemporary Nigerian pop music.
