Building a Voice Against Corruption
In the 1990s, Ezekwesili became actively involved in anti corruption advocacy. She was among the founding members of Transparency International Nigeria, the Nigerian chapter of Transparency International.
Her work focused on strengthening public accountability systems, improving transparency in government financial management, and encouraging civic participation in governance.
The Due Process Era and Procurement Reform
In 2003, under President Olusegun Obasanjo, Ezekwesili was appointed head of the Budget Monitoring and Price Intelligence Unit, commonly known as the Due Process Office.

Minister of Education

In 2007, Ezekwesili was appointed Vice President for the Africa Region at the World Bank. Bring Back Our Girls Movement
In 2014, following the abduction of schoolgirls from Chibok by Boko Haram insurgents, Ezekwesili became one of the most visible leaders of the Bring Back Our Girls movement.
